Nicole Ayers has been working with words as long as she can remember. Her editing career officially began in the eighth grade when she assumed the role of Editor-in-Chief of her school’s newsletter. Nicole worked as an educator for over a decade, teaching writers of all ages how to hone their craft and improve their use of conventions. She also worked with an affiliate of the National Writing Project to facilitate workshops and writing intensive courses for other educators.
Today Nicole uses her experience to edit manuscripts for writers who intend to self-publish, as well as those seeking a literary agent. She created Ayers Edits in 2013. She provides developmental editing, manuscript evaluations, and copyediting for both fiction and nonfiction. Her goal is to help clients create a polished manuscript they are proud to share with the world.
In addition to working with individuals, Nicole works with publications, such as b2bTRIBE, Explore Edisto, and Little Ones. Nicole is the editor for The Bookwoman, the national newsletter for the Women’s National Book Association. She is also a member of the Editorial Freelancers Association and Association of Independent Publishing Professionals.
